The Embassy and AVSI Foundation organized on March 9 at the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy a fundraising fashion show under the title of “Seeds of Hope. Moving Forward” .
The event follows the success of last year’s “Seeds and Threads”, a similar initiative launched with the participation of the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, thanks to which the Embassy and AVSI fundraised in favor of COWA Centenary Vocational Training School in Nsambia.
This year’s edition hosted more than 13 African designers from Camerun, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. A group of professional dancers (Rozviccycathy) have also performed on the catwalk.
The funds raised will be devolved to the women of Meeting Point International (an implementing partner of AVSI Foundation in the Distance Support Program) to assist them in becoming enterprising and self-sustaining business people.
The embassy and AVSI warmly thank the partners that made the event possible: Amaka, Areg Agrofood, Campari, Casabella, CityTyres-Pirelli, DJ Rachel, Emanuela Mantegazza Photography, Linove, Photo4Fashion, Saloon N.49, Strobe Studio, Uganda Bikers, Uganda Olimpic Committee.
