H.E. Mauro Massoni, Ambassador of Italy to Uganda, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Hon. Henry Musasizi, with discussions focused on deepening Uganda–Italy bilateral and development cooperation.
The meeting highlighted Italy’s longstanding contribution to Uganda’s development, including support in health, education, infrastructure, agriculture, climate resilience and environmental sustainability.
The two sides also explored new opportunities for cooperation and investment, including proposed programmes to support Uganda’s coffee sector and value addition, waste management, and increased Italian participation in strategic infrastructure projects such as the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
Uganda and Italy reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation, trade and investment in support of Uganda’s economic transformation and sustainable development.
