The Italan Republic Day. also known as Festa della Repubblica in Italian, is celebrated on June 2nd each year. It commemorates the day on which Italians voted to abolish the mornachy in 1946 so that their Country could become a republic. As we mark this day, the Italian Embassy wishes to extend its most sincere greetings to the Italian citizens living and working in Uganda, and takes this opportunity to appreciate the Government and Ugandan people for the many years of the close cooperation between our two Countries, and for the warm welcome Italians continue to receive.
