The Embassy of Italy presented the 2021 edition of the Italian Cultural and Culinary Week to the media this morning at the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy in Kololo. The theme of this year’s edition is “Dante, the Italian” and was chosen to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, poet and founding father of the Italian Language.
The press launch was attended by different media houses and among the special guests included: Ms. Judyth Nsababera, Senior Presidential Advisor for Regional Matters; Ms. Lily Ajarova, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board and Mrs. Susan Muhwezi, Senior Presidential Advisor and Chairperson of the Uganda Hotel Owners Association Board.
In her speech, Ms. Ajarova pointed out that the Italian Cultural and Culinary Week is critical to maintaining the bond between Italy and Uganda while Ms. Nsababera thanked the Embassy for having chosen to involve different influencers and young Ugandans to promote both cultures. As the chief guest, Mrs. Muhwezi thanked the Embassy for organising the week and for ensuring that different chefs had the opportunity to learn more about the Italian Culture and most importantly the Cuisine.
