Italian cultural and culinary week (Kampala, 14 – 18 November)

The Embassy of Italy is organizing from November 14 to 18 an Italian Cultural and Culinary Week. The program includes several events: gala dinners to promote the Italian cuisine; concerts of the Roman singer Claudia Hausmann, together with the Ugandan Jazz group Baxmba Waves; workshops on cuisine, music and “social design”; events in favor of the students of Ambrosoli International School (which was founded by the Italian community and of which we today celebrate the 25th anniversary).

During the week the Italian Embassy will run a fundraising campaign in favor of Grisciano (#KampalaPerGrisciano), a medieval village, hometown of ”pasta alla gricia”, heavily damaged by the earthquake that struck Central Italy on August 24 (and the consequent seismic events). The funds will be channeled through the association “Amici di Grisciano” (“Friends of Grisciano”: www.associazioneamicidigrisciano.it) to reconstruct projects.

The Embassy thanks the partners that have offered crucial contributions to the organization of the week: Africell, Emirates, Sheraton Kampala, Cheesvi Ltd, Linove, Jazzville.

Looking forward to seeing you!
