The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation provides financial contributions to partially cover travel and accommodation expenses for researchers, professors, experts, cultural figures, and cultural operators, both Italian and foreign, who are formally invited by university or cultural institutions in Italy and abroad.
Who can apply for the contribution?

Foreign researchers, professors, experts, cultural figures, and cultural operators, as well as Italian citizens residing abroad, invited to spend a period at Italian university or cultural institutions for study or research purposes.

Italian and foreign researchers, professors, experts, cultural figures, and cultural operators who have been residing in Italy for at least two years, invited to spend a period at foreign university or cultural institutions for study or research purposes.
Preference will be given to invitations within the framework of Bilateral Cultural Cooperation Agreements and Executive Programs.
How much is the contribution?
The contribution consists of a fixed daily amount for a maximum of 10 days:

€250 per day for stays up to 5 days, plus €50 per day from the 6th to the 10th day, for a maximum amount of €1,500 per mission.

To encourage cooperation with certain strategic and geographically distant countries where travel costs are higher—such as Asian, African (excluding the MENA region), and American countries—the contribution will be €350 per day for stays up to 5 days, plus €250 per day from the 6th to the 10th day, up to a maximum of €3,000 per beneficiary.
The Administration reserves the right to modify the list of these areas.
Only the days of actual cultural and/or research activities will be counted.
Deadlines
Applications must be submitted no later than July 20, 2025.
The contribution is available for all activities taking place between January 1 and November 15, 2025.

The application must include the following documents:

Letter from the inviting Italian/foreign university or cultural institution

Letter of acceptance from the applicant

Curriculum vitae of the applicant

Copy of a valid identification document

Form containing the applicant’s personal details and bank details (to be submitted exclusively in Word format; other formats will not be accepted)

Certificate of stay issued by the host institution

Final report on the activities carried out

Travel documents, such as flight tickets and boarding passes
How is the contribution disbursed?
The contributions will be disbursed via bank transfer to the beneficiary’s account.
