In connection with the Ebola virus disease outbreak in Uganda and the DRC declared by the World Health Organization on 16 May 2026, all those intending to travel from Uganda abroad or vice versa are hereby informed that the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority has made traveller tracking mandatory.
Upon arrival and departure at Entebbe International Airport, every traveller is required to provide proof of registration of their movements, no later than 6 hours before travel. To speed up procedures and avoid crowding, travellers are advised to register their journey on the website https://poes.health.go.ug/declare. Upon completion of the declaration, a QR code will be provided, which can be printed or saved on one’s mobile phone, to be shown to the competent authorities, and which serves as proof of completed registration.
It is also recalled that, pursuant to the Italian Ministry of Health Ordinance of 29/05/2026 and Circular No. prot. 4258 of 29/05/2026, the self-reporting obligation remains in force for all travel to and from Uganda, as indicated in the previous notice from this Embassy.
