LEONARDO DA VINCI IN KAMPALA

In the framework of this year’s Italian Cultural Week, which will take place in November, the Embassy will organize the exhibition “Leonardo Opera Omnia”. 17 high definition reproductions of the masterpieces of Italy’s most renowned genius will be displayed, including the “Gioconda” (Mona Lisa) and the “Cenacolo” (Last Supper). The exhibition is part of an itinerant program organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death; it will bring together works now hosted by museums in five countries in three different continents. Uganda is one of the two African countries chosen for the initiative.
The event is organized jointly with the Ugandan Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and will take place at the Kampala National Museum.
