The 2019 Italian National Day was celebrated on Friday May 31st at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador, H.E. Domenico Fornara.
Over 700 guests have attended. The Embassy thanks the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Elioda Tumewsigye, who participated in his capacity as Guest of Honor. Moreover, several representatives from the Ugandan Government and institutions attended, among those, the Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and the Minister for Karamoja, Hon. John Byabagambi.
During the function a selection of Italian food and wine was served. Stands were organized where the Italian Agencies for Cooperation (AICS) and International Trade (ITA/ICE), Italian NGOs as well as the Italian and Ugandan companies showcased their activities.
Images of Italy, the Italian way of living, the Italian international action and the activities of the “Sistema Italia” in Uganda were projected on a wide screen.
The whole night was accompanied by the live music of “Baxmba and the Waves”, who also prepared an Italian repertoire on the occasion.
